David's first tooth

While walking in Sam's Club with a friend David was sucking/chewing on my finger as usual and all of a sudden I thought I felt something. At first I thought it was his fingernail pressing into my finger so I was like whatever, but then the more I felt it as he continued to suck and chew the more that made me think, "this is NOT a fingernail". So I looked at Tanya and said I really think this is a tooth, can you look? She looked at his mouth and sure enough there was a teeny tiny little spot where the tooth was coming thru. I told her to feel it (she was all worried about her hands being dirty and I did not care one bit because I was so excited and HAD to know ASAP). Well you could definitely feel it. David's first tooth! So of course we take a pic on the phone camera because that is all we have and then send it off to Daddy! We get home and try to show Daddy and he can't see it or feel it. I try to tell him trust me it was there but of course he is like ahh whatever. Apparently, their teeth can play pookaboo for a little while before they fully come thru, so I am hoping very soon that Daddy can see and feel David's first tooth!

David went under water!

We went swimming today at the pool and I got up the guts to put him under water!  He did great!  No tears at all, I think he was a little confused but he did it!  I am so proud of him.  Now we have to keep taking him to the pool so he isn't scared next summer.

Grandma Rose and Grandpa Bruce's trip to see David

Grandma Rose and Grandpa Bruce took a road trip down to see David from July 5- July 9. They were the first grandparents to get to see little David (since they live the closest). We all had such a great time! We went to the pool and swam around for a bit since here in AL it is super hot! Grandpa, Dave, and David went to the museum to look around while grandma and Emily went around shopping and looking at different stores. We grilled out which was a lot of fun and very yummy.

Grandma got to give David a bath and of course hold him a lot :) At the very end of their trip I thought she took off with my baby (because she was outside walking around with him). David fell asleep in the weirdest ways on grandma and grandpa (I guess that is why they are grandparents).

Too short of a trip but we really enjoyed having them down! Can't wait for next time!

Fourth of July

We went to the fireworks on base as a family :) I think David really enjoyed his first 4th! He sat and stared up at the fireworks the whole time and then when they were over he kept looking straight up at the sky to see more. It was so cute! The fireworks here were the best ones I have EVER seen! I can't wait to see them next 4th of July!

D rolled over!

I was taking pictures of D and next thing you know he rolled over!!!  I couldn't believe it, it is sooooo exciting :)  I didn't get it on video but I have him right before he rolled and right after!  So awesome :)

David's two month appointment

Well we went to our 2 month checkup and we weigh 13.1lbs and are 23in long! We have changed so much so fast. He is getting really good at holding his head up, just every once in awhile he gets tired so it just flops. He loves sucking on his arm, hand, fingers, anywhere on Mommy, but he will NOT take a pacifier. He still loves to be held but he will do more things by himself now. Everything is hit or miss but when he is having a good day he enjoys his swing, his bouncer, and his step and play piano. He has gone to the big swimming pool and he enjoys it :) He has rolled over once from front to back and he is getting so close back to front. He is doing better at sleeping on his own but he isn't quite there, we are working on it though! So we were reading thru Daddy's baby book and come to find out they are so much alike in like every single way (so he can't complain about a thing)! Well more updates later. We love and miss everyone :(

What D is doing at 3 weeks

So David is now 3 wks old! It is kind of crazy how fast it has gone. He is getting so big.

Things he does now:

Rolls his head side to side when he is on his back and stomach

Picks his head up and looks around

Babbles/talks ALL the time

Eats ALL the time

Rolls to his side when placed on his back/stomach

Scoots himself across the floor when you put him on his belly

At his 2 wk appt he had grown an inch to 20.5 inches and he gained weight and is now up to 7.14lbs
